History of Michael Ansaldo Social Services Society (MASS Society)

The Sisters of Michael Ansaldo Province began social work in collaboration with an NGO called Balavikas-Warangal.

At first in 1994, they began the social work in Machilipatnam. In the year 2000, they concentrated in the Gunadala area. From 2003 to 2006 gradually they expanded the social work in Maginapudi, Mylavaram, Motokondur and Sulanagar area.

When Sr. Augustine Sahayam was the Provincial Superior. She took initiative and separated from the Balavikas with the agreement of one year payment of salary for the staff and Micro credit Activity in 2009 and covered the following areas Machilipatnam, Gunadala, Maginapudi, Mylavaram, Motokondur and Sulanagar.

On 4 th September 2010, first meeting was conducted by Sr. Celine Hilda Mary, the Provincial Superior. Sr. Roseline was appointed as the Director. 6 sisters were selected as area coordinators and 12 women were appointed as the cluster coordinators.

MASS Society Activites

Michael Ansaldo social services society have done the following activites given below

7. School Preparatory Day

In 2013, the Old and Destitute Program was conducted by Rev.Sr. Mary Stella, The Provincial Superior. The Yearly Program was going on regularly on time.

In 2014 on 8 th and 11 th of March, we celebrated Women's Day in different places namely in Gunadal, Mylavaram, Machilipatnam and Maginapudi. Total number of women who participated was around 2900. The Superior General, Rev. Mother A. Mary Stella participated in the Program. She was amazed to see the big crowd of women for the program.

In 2019, due to COVID the activities of the society were rather dull. In August 2020 Rev. Sr. Augustine Sahayam was appointed as the Director of MASS Society.

In July 2022, Sr. Arokiamary Mary was appointed as the Director of MASS Society and she planned yearly program with the area and cluster coordinators, with the support of Sr. Pauline Sagayarani, the Provisional Superior, the Director has taken initiative to perform all the programs which is already planned for every month.

Micheal Ansaldo social services society focused its services to the empowerment of women folk. Special attention is given to the orphan children and the family welfare of the society. Thus stepping to establish just society in the world.
